It's the things we play with & the people who help us play that make a great difference in our lives.

Mr. Rogers

child therapy

Our Mission

Our mission is to create a space where children and families feel seen, understood, and accepted just as they are. We believe that when humans are given the freedom to express themselves safely, healing and growth happen naturally.

Our Approach

We believe that healthy children are able to be an individual and cooperate in a family, so our approach blends individual sessions and family sessions, according to your child's needs.

Individual sessions focus on:

  • Child empowerment and competence. We follow your child's lead in play, allowing them to explore what feels important at their own pace.
  • Safe space for expression. Toys, games and creative materials become tools for communication and healing.
  • Building emotional skills through play. Children learn to identify feelings, regulate emotions and practice new ways of coping.

Family sessions focus on:

  • Parent collaboration. We partner with caregivers to provide insight, tools and support beyond the therapy room.
  • Building safety and trust. We want everyone in the family to feel like the therapist is on their side. We will help your family figure out what structure works for you in the therapy room and at home so everyone feels supported.
  • Playfulness. Happy families can play together. And playfulness is the key to understanding, connecting and engaging cooperation.
  • Behavior as communication. A child's behavior is communicating something about their feelings and needs. We explore what is being communicated and practice new ways of communicating feelings and meeting needs.

What can play therapy help with?

  • Anxiety and fears
  • Behavioral challenges
  • Emotional regulation difficulties
  • Family transitions (divorce, moves, new siblings)
  • Trauma or stressful experiences
  • Social difficulties
  • Grief and loss
